CQ Zone 14 ITU Zone 27 LOC Zone IO93GJ As from 12th April 2007 I will be upgrading to Advance. I was born in Sheffield, worked and lived most of the time in the City. Came in to contact with large number of Radio Hams. I sat the new Foundation exam and got my first licence on the 24/04/02 M3ANC. I have been a SWL for 25 years, part of this was spent in the Royal Signals TA as a radio operator, this helped with the morse. I passed the RSGB morse exam in 1997. Due to work and the shutting down of local Colleges it was difficult to find anywere local for me to sit the exam. The interest of radio as never gone away as close friends got there Amateur licences I was left just to listen, eventualy I got the M3ANC and could now join in. I am interested in SSTV,IU-View,Satallite,and phone on VHF,UHF,HF. As from the 21/09/02 my new callsign will be 2E0TWS, this will alow me to work on the 10 metres,and Microwave sections. When Portable carry a VX5 HT for my 6 meters Link , and a 70cm HT for local working in my City. At the home QTH I use the Yeasu FT817, working all HF, SSTV, PSK31, 1/2 Size G5RV, fed with RG58 Coax. At the home QTH, FT-847 for dedicated Satallite working, Antenna Diamond Tri band 2000, in line 2/70cms Duplexer, Work Oscar 7. Work 4 Meters using an Philips FM 1000 set, Antenna Vertical running about 9 watts, monitor the calling frequency. The HF is the Yaesu FT-1000MP,antenna 132 feet of wire in a u shape end fed, at the ground via 30 feet of RG58 Coax used for 160 Meters. For the 40 Meters half wave and 80 Meters quarter wave using end fed wire length of 63 feet. For the 17 Meters using end fed wire lenght of 45 feet full wave. At Home with the rest of the equipment I use the FT8900 for 2/70cms/6mtrs, linked to a PK-12 and Lap Top for the UI View 32 on RF usining a Tri Band Mobile Antenna. Am also a member of the Sheffield Amateur Radio Club, the club call is G3RCM. Like getting involved with the field days, also worked IOTA from the island of Arran for the past two years under the callsign MM3M. With the help from Steve M1ERS a good friend. I run Echo/irlp Echolink No is 113117 , and the IRLP No is 5852. 73s and hope to hear you on the bands, or even see you at our local Club.
