The XYL and I live here in Nha Trang 6 months and the other 6 months inW6-land each year. We built this house right next to the South China Sea with a radio room on the top floor. The 3rd floor deck provides a perfect place to mount a tower or mast for the A3S and 40m vertical.
I'll be QRV almost every day while here so if we don't QSO today I'll be back soon for another try, hi. Most frequently,3W7W will be around 14.200 USB or the low end of 40 CW.
The XYL's family are all here in Nha Trang. She used to come visit them from California every year for 2 months so I thought it would be better to just come live here, splitting our time. So, she designed our house-to-be, with a few inputs from me of course, gathered up her plans and came here in 2009 to oversee the construction.
I was originally licensed as KN6ZSJ in 1956. I also held the call of DJ0QF in the late 1960s while working for Siemens in Munich and still speak German.
During the half year in CA we travel in the motorhome visiting family and friends. WhenAnnieis visiting her kids and grand kids in San Jose and I like bumming around CA in the motorhome. That works out well, hi.

FM
For Field Day operating, FM is probably the easiest VHF mode to implement. You’ll have little trouble finding FM rigs to use; even a
hand-held transceiver can make a fine Field Day rig. FM doesn’t have the range of CW or SSB, but it is the most popular
communications mode on the VHF and UHF bands. You’ll find the greatest amount of FM simplex activity on the 2-meter band,
although 6 meter FM may be worth a try as well. Remember that Field Day rules prohibit the use of repeaters. This means you’ll
have to hunt for contacts on the recognized simplex frequencies.
