What can icy rain do? - One day before the CQ WW CW 2011 Contest

Summer and winter landscapes at 9A1A contest location.

In late may 2009 we started dismantling and rebuilding antennas and towers, more than 120 days of hard work.

Here are some pictures, one picture says more than thousand of words

20 m antennas are ready for dismantling

It is easier to climb the tower with big (200 ft crane) (9A9A with red helmet)

10 m 6 el. Telrex

20 m top 6 el Telrex

"The magnificent seven" with 6 el Telrex 20m

120 ft tower with ring rotors

Ring rotors

One of the 120 ft towers is ready for transport for sandblasting (removing rust) and painting

3 x 6 el 15m yagis ready for dismantling

9A6A & 9A7R are dismantling Telrex 6 el 28 MHz

dismantled booms and elements

one of repainted 120 ft towers

9A2DQ, 9A5W & 9A6A (with 9A9A behind camera) preparing new steel ropes with insulators

9A2DQ>

"NEW" OLD tower at its locationIsthis tower element toheavy ?, Obviously - not

A "brunch" time

9A9A & 9A5W with building permit for towers and antennas

not only steel and aluminum, and flowers grow here. . and butterflies, too

matching of tower elements this one isn't so lightweight

And, what to do now ?? 9A5W is warming-up with this splinter

one tower is completed next one is ready , .

9A7R "the cutter" this tower is allmost finished

9A4WW & 9A5W finishing next tower

BIG, 60 tons, 250 ft crane, but towers weren't lifted up, .it is long story,.

"inspection" from air temperature was +38 dgrs C, without this fire

new (old) crane came, and tower is finally lifted up The team is more than happy, note screws, without nuts, but it was only for 2 minutes

4th tower is going up and is allmost up, waiting for antennas

9A9A - climbing up to untie the rope from crane without this 200 ft crane, towers would spend summer "grounded"

It was the arrival of 60 t crane through the mud we lost more than 5 hours to move crane from mud

also, we discovered new flowers around the towers

"Medical consultation" is thinking and discussing how to be the most productive, to push out this big crane from the mud

setting protective grounding cords, .

"new-old" towers waiting for antennas

more than 800 m (2600 ft) of grounding cords was installed

another beautiful flowers connect the grounding cords (9a5w, 9a9a & 9a2dq)

9A2DQ is resting

"Seka" at the controls of this very productive and helpful machine This is not a snake

home made RF chokes for 40-10 m antennas are ready another "inspection" from air, towers and antennas are just on the coridor

9A7R and 9A4WW with "SWR grease" 20 m antenna is ready for lifting up

stacks for 40-10 m are ready, but, it's not all, here wil be more stacks ,. 3 times more.

antennas are ready, waiting for spring 2010 21 MHz top antenna

A bird eye "fall landscape"

Red tubes with hardlines and another cables from each tower come to cottage THIS IS WINTER LANDSCAPE

9A9A at 120 ft adjusting SWR on 20 m antenna, but without a "SWR grease"

Below:

New pictures updated in july 2011

Here are some new pictures. You'll see that we were not sleeping. It is a hard and permanent job

How many antennas and elements is on this tower? Fairly enough - antennas for 14 & 21 MHz

Beautiful sunset - CQ WW WPX CW 2011 (Before adding new antennas)

Another view of towers and antennas

Here are new pictures, showing Phase 2 of rebuilding antennas
