ACØUS says "Howdy from America's Heartland!" I was licensed as WNØOXH and WAØTVX before going QRT for 41 years. I'm primarily a CW op, avoid contests (though I don't mind them), and like rag chewing. I've started to play a bit with SSTV and the digital modes, but CW is my favorite mode. I'll QRS anytime, and encourage all amateur radio ops learn Morse code. I'd love to get to know you if you'll pound some brass! I'm a retired engineer from the Bell System - Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph/Mountain Bell/Avaya/Lucent/AT&T. Started as a telephone installer and ended up working on Audix (TM) voice mail systems. the first automated attendant phone system that we have all learned to hate over the years. Retired at an early age, XYL and I sold house and everything in it, and hit the road with our RV and modified Jeep for 5 years searching for the perfect retirement location. We found our slice of Heaven in Nebraska of all places in the middle of nowhere. We bought a run down farmstead and have been in the process of remodeling the old farmhouse and cleaning up the 5 acres of weeds and junk. We don't miss the rat race of the city, and the only downside we've found is that Mexican food in Nebraska leaves something to be desired. Last modified: 2012-03-10 04:08:53, 1771 bytes fetched
