Again, name is Michael. I am 39 yrs old and live in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Wilkes-Barre is located in northeast Pennsylvania about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the Apalachian Mountains. I have been involved in amateur radio since 3 April 1996 when I was first licensed as N3XDE Tech Plus. I was bitten by the DX bug and have never recovered. When on the radio, I am always searching for DX. On 20 December 1996, I upgraded to General class and began my HF adventure. Then on 27 February 1997, I upgraded to Advanced class and recieved a new callsign of KE3YZ. At this point, I was at Advanced class until 20 March 2002 when I upgraded to Amateur Extra and applied for the vanity callsign of AF3L. Anyway, I used to work as an armed security officer for a local security agency for 13 1/2 years as seen in my picture, but now am currently employed in the transportation industry driving tractor trailer over the road. I have a 10 yr old daughter named Michaela who gets a real kick out of listening to me on the radio. Whenever I am on she always wants to be there listening to whom I am talking to.

When I am on the radio, my mobile or portable conditions are an Icom IC-706MK2G, Microphone is Icom HM-103, and use hamstick antenna's 80-10M. For 6M I use the Diamond HF50CX magnet mount. From home, I run an Icom IC-706(original) and antenna is a Butternut HF9V ground mounted vertical with 64 ground radials. I run only 100 watts from the mobile and base. I am active on 160M-10M usually in the evenings, nights, or early in the morning. I like to work DX stations or just rag chew with anyone.
