Hi, I'm Steve, AK0M. I've been in amateur radio since I was 14 years old. My primary interests are antenna design, wave propagation, portable operating and QRP. I especially like to design and build things, or experiment with the designs of others.

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla, where my callsign was WB0GRJ. I enjoyed the close camaraderie at the school W0EEE station and the many contests we worked there.

I currently work for Rockwell Collins as a Principal Systems Engineer. Prior to this I operated a consulting business called RPT Solutions, LLC that I started in May 2004 after 15 years working for John Deere in software engineering and product support roles . My wife Sandy and I have three children. Our son is living in Anchorage, AK, and our two daughters (one married) both live nearby. Sandy is also licensed as KC0RD, C6ASC and VP2V/KC0RD.

Sandy and I have combined our annual winter vacations with low-key holiday-style DXpeditions to the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands. You can read about some of those trips at www.ak0m.com.
