***** Please note: I am not the QSL forwarder AI4U ***** We moved from SE Alaska to Manassas a year ago to be close to family and pursue a new job opportunity at a communications startup. Our time in Alaska was a once-in-a-lifetime experiencce and we greatly appreciated the natural beauty and bounty of SE Alaska and the friendship of the people we met. I also miss my boat and the salmon fishing! My XYL (KD0HZU) and I are looking forward to what life brings us. My interest and current profession involve diasater response/emergency communications. I am a former ARRL ARES SEC for Santa Clara Valley, DEC for San Mateo county, and EC in San Diego. I served my country as a Navy ET (Radar & Crypto) and was a vol communications and tech info specialist with Urban Search and Rescue Task force CA-TF3 in Menlo Park CA. Later, when I moved to Colorado and met the pretty YL who became my XYL, I was a volunteer firefighter with Allenspark Fire and EMT for the Estes Park Medical Center ambulance service in the mountains of Colorado. I was first licensed as Novice in 1974 as WN9NMI, then became KG4NMI when transferred to GTMO, Later calls included KC6NTN and KM6GE. You might hear me on the local 2m repeaters and sometimes on HF 40m to 6m with an Icom 706MkIIG, AT180 and Super Antenna MP-1 or mono-band wire dipoles. We have a Drake C-line and Icom 756Pro in storage and we hope to get them on the air when we settle into our permanent home. 73, John AL4U Last modified: 2012-05-03 13:09:53, 1530 bytes cached
