I was born on October 28th 1966 in the city of La Serena which is one of the oldest cities in Chile. La Serena was built by the Spanish and we still retain the Spanish style of architecture and Spanish customs.

I got married to Gloria (CA2WTQ) and together we have formed a beautiful family with 5 kids. one of them, Mauricio (CA2UDO ex CD-00906) has gone with me on 4 Dxpeditions (XR2D,3G1A,3G1P,3G2D) and my 4 daughters are called Francisca, Valeria,Alexandra and Paola.

My first license was A-6600 "aspirant" operating only in HF assisting XQ1IDM who has been my "GURU" in this hobby. Then three years ago I received my novice license as CA2WUI. Today I have my general class license receiving the prefix CE so now my call is CE2WUI (General license); operating on all all HAM bands. My preferences in radio are PHONE, RTTY and specially BPSK31, being an active member of the “PODXS 070 CLUB”, register number # 245, "European Psk Club", register number # 11441 and "Digital Modes Club", register number # 3092.
