the radio hobby to get fun:

I´am a radio amateur since 1985. Since 1985 i developed alot of radio amateur repeaters (dStar and analog)for voice and atv in the 2m, 70cm and 3cm band. i was over 15 years responsible for the 10GHzatv repeater in papenburg. From time to time i am qrv on the shortwave bandes. But i don´t like shortwave very much - the most interesting bands are 2m, 70cm and all Gigahertz amateur radio bands. It was a pleasure to work via the amateur radio satellites like AO40 in the 13cm band.

For the radio hobby i use several transmitters, receiversand homemade euipment:

TS-440, TS-811, TS-711, FT897, FT8900, FT1800, FT7800, IC-ID880, IC-2820 (dStar)

For VHF/UHF I use steerable X-Quad antennas mounted on the roof on my house. For omni-directionaltransmit and receive i use the Diamond X200 antenne. For my activitieson the 23cm/13cm and 3cm band i usetwo dish antennas (both homemade and installed on the roof og my house). For shortwave activity it´s only a simple longwire mounted from the roof into the garden. (see picture of my latest antenna constructions). The pictures below shows my antennas, me at work and my shack including the available measurement equipment.

the work to get money:

as a rf-engineer i have developed alot of commercial radios like wlan, dect and wdct for the consumer market. At the moment i´am working as an system-engineer for geostationary satellite payloads and antennas.I am also responsible for a lot of terrestical broadcast television (DVB-T) and broadcastradio (analog and DAB+) stations in north germany.
