DL0AO is the club-call of the radio association of the city of Amberg. Our "AO" suffix means "Amberg Oberpfalz". We also own the following contest calls: DR5Z (in SSB contest) and DP4P (in RTTY contest). QSL via bureau or to our QSL manager Dieter, DL5RDO

Our station is inside the nature park "Hirschwald" (deer forest), DLFF-067 for the flora and fauna award.We activate it regularly using our private calls /p.

Amberg is a very old town with about 45.000 inhabitants situated in East Bavaria, only 60 km away from the border of the Czech Republik. The club counts about 100 members. We are very glad to have a large territory for our radio activities.

We use the clubstation for meetings (local as well as DX-meetings), contesting, education, JOTA,camping, BBQ and youth activities.

Our station setup consists of:

10m: 5 El. Monobander @ 12m (Hy-Hain 105BAS, 8m boom)

15m: 5 El. Monobander @ 23m(OWA design on 10m Boom by Optibeam) Above a M2 18XXX Yagi for 144 MHz (11m boom)

20m: 6 El. Monobander @ 16m (Old CueDee with 16m boom)

40m: 2 El. Shorty (Cushcraft)@18m.

80m: 18m high 1/4 lamda vertical or 35m vertical with parallel-resonance feeding (left side: 80m parallel circuit with 25 KV vacuum variable)

160m: 35m high vertical. For RX: various temporary beverages.

Now we improve the ground-system for the 35m vertical. DL8RCD is the (heavy) weight on the cable-plow (pulled by car). DL1CYP watching the gap madeof the plow.impressive!
