I'm licensed since 1980 - but my radio-infection started in the autumn of 1960 as I found an old detector from my fathers study period in the attic of our house. After requicken the detector (with the help of my father) I spend a lot of night-time for listen. At Xmas in 1961 I got a construction set of the legendary Ø-V-2 Audion (with ECC 81) from my Parents and with the aid of my Physic teacher we build this Receiver at School. Many Years later I build up another version of Ø-V-2 with EF 183 and ECL 80. My HAM radio interests include homebrewing equipment as wire-antennas in different forms (like Delta-Loop, Lazy-H, Oblong, folded Dipols), at Home or on Fieldday , build up baluns and simple antenna-matchers. I'm interested in Contest- QRP- and IOTA-operation (I was qrv from several IOTA's in DL, PA and OZ), hunting Awards - and DXing, especially on 40Meters - with shifting order during the years. Basically my focus is in SSB and RTTY but also in CW cause I regained / refreshed my CW skills. Latterly again I'm more offen QRV in Feldhell and, just as much, in Olivia - that's my way to settle back. For this purpose I use Fldigi (click and take a look) from W1HKJ - in my opinion one of the best digimode programs - and it runs with Windows, OSx and Linux. Sometimes I'm also QRV in SSTV with MMSSTV (click for info/download) on 80m (at night on 3.730 kHz) and SSTV-N (MP73-N <500Hz) on 10.132 kHz (for NA) or 10.142 (outside NA) - also on 20m locking for DX.
For me, the finish of a QSO is the QSL-Card !! - my preferred way is via Bureau ( or direct ) - eQSL is also ok - but currently, at this point, I need it only for backup - as long as no complete acceptance actual compounded. I'm still collecting QSL-Cards for several Awards, so any QSL-Card would be appreciated. All QSL-Cards will be answered on the same way as received - that’s a point of Honor for me ! - SWL-Cards are gladly accepted ! For direct QSL-Cards please keep in mind sufficient postage ==> for DX-station = 1 new IRC or 1 US$ - for station inside EU = 1 new IRC or 1 US$ - otherwise the cards will be returned via QSL-Bureau.
I'm member of: DARC DOK F43, DIG #202, GDXF #229, EPC #1021, 30MDG #2698, OBC #166 . . . . . and hope to see you down the Log - cause the "beat" goes on
I apply the DX Code of Conduct to wish to still improve the DX Etiquette.
