QSL: VIA BUREAU OR DIRECT

Hello,

My name is Sven, 31 years old and i'm living in Obereisenheim, between the franconian cities Würzburg and Schweinfurt. Our village is directly at the river "Main", in a wonderful landscape with wine hills (home of the "Silvaner" wine). During the season from April to October many tourists enjoy staying here for some days. It's only 100km to Nuremberg, 150 to Bayreuth and 150 to Frankfurt. So we are directly between some big and famous cities.

We do have a beautiful holiday flat in our house - if you want to enjoy a stay here for holiday, feel free to ask me for special ham conditions (also possible to use my station sometimes, and if i have some time i could show you Würzburg at day or night :-). You could take a look at our homepage! (info in [details] )

Here are some pictures of our home village:

The Protestant Church and the City Hall

Our lovely ferry across the river Main

One of our wine restaurants (we have two traditional franconian restaurants in our village)

Family:

I am married to my beloved wife Katja since 2006 and we have two children: Tobias (born in February 2008) and Sarah Liv (born in January 2012) who are visiting me in my shack sometimes (Tobi for watching dvd on my PC, Sarah for sleeping ;-). Maybe they would follow me with this hobby in the future. i will do my best :-)

Some time ago.

In 1995 i started with CB radio with my best friend Jürgen, DL5BB (we bought some cheap 40 Channel cb radios), and some years later i got in contact with ham radio. In 1997 i started my job training as "Communication Electronic - functional direction in Radio Technology" (in german: Kommunikationselektroniker - Fachrichtung Funktechnik) and finished in 2001. Since 2004 i am employed at a company for laboratory analysis instruments. In 2007 we left Stuttgart "for a new start" and moved to Würzburg and i started working in the field (Maintenance & Repairs at customer sites). We never regret leaving the "Ländle" and found a new, beautiful and very friendly home here in franconia. Sometimes it's better to see new horizonts and start a new chapter of life.

I made my Class E Licence at 09. October 2009 (ex Callsign DO1TKS) and upgraded to Class A Licence at 15. October 2010 (Callsign DL3SG).

My Shack:

TRX:

Icom 7400 (160m - 2m), max. 100W

Mic: Beyerdynamic DT291 with Xenyx 502 Mixer

Mfj 929 Automatic Tuner (quiet one, really good), Daiwa CN-101L SWR Meter for 2m

Yaesu G-1000DXC Rotor Controler

Antennas:

Optibeam 9-5, 20-10m, mounted 13m above ground level in March 2012.

HF2V - 40 & 80m Vertical

80m Inverted V Dipol

6m Delta Loop

X-30 for 2m / 70cm

Mobile & Portable:

TRX: Yaesu FT 857D

Antennas:

Diamond NR-770R or Diamond CR-22, Nagoya 20m & 10m Monobanders, ProAM 80m & 40m

for 2m SSB i use a 10 elements Koni Yagi or 8 elements Jaybeam Yagi

HF: 10m GFK Vertical for 40-10m (mostly used during holidays)

May 2011 during DARC 2m Contest, first Test of my Koni 10 element Yagi, best distance was 578km - the antenna is at only 5m above ground, and i only used ca. 50 Watts powered by 6x12Ah Batteries.

My second Hobby - Camping holidays with our caravan (Knaus 550 TKM BJ 2003) I really love it, it's our absolute favourite to make holidays this way.

Memberships:

I am member and QSL Manager of the DARC e.V. DOK B18 (Würzburg) and Amateurfunk Unterfranken e.V.

Antennas of the "AfuZ" Clubstation (DL0TP / DN4WZ) at the Blosenberg near Würzburg - EME Antenna for 2m, 70cm, 23cm, in the background 80m Vertical and a Optibeam OB9-5.

My main interest is DX'ing and sometimes contests (if i have time for it, not easy with two little children). Maybe i could take part of a Dxpedition somewhere - but i think i would never have enough money for it ;-) (if you could help me, need a rookie on a trip, send me a email! :-)

QSL Information:

Previous Callsign, photo taken on a old bunker near Trelleborg, SM:

and my first one:

QSL: I prefer QSL via bureau and confirm the same way. I'm always happy to get "real" paper cards. Direct is also possible, there is no need for IRC or $'s (It's a hobby.). SWL Cards are also welcome and would be confirmed also (but please don't send a lot for the same band.).

I also confirm every (!) QSO via eqsl and LOTW - i upload my log's nearly every month or more.

I hope to hear you on the frequencies - if you hear me, give me a call!

Sven -DL3SG

I recommend reading and living this:

.and at least i have to say many many thanks to:

My lovely YL Katja for accepting my hobby sometimes (but she hates it)

and my both children Tobias and Sarah for giving me so much i couldn't put in words!

(Tobi and Sarah, in March 2012)
