GB7SF now has over 75 registered users and our first overseas visitor on Port B was Connie KB0ZSG, our American representative ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ Sheffield's first Digital D-Star regenerative node was inaugurated at 13:26 UTC on the 19th of April 2008, and the 70 cms port was officially opened on the 12th August 2008 at 16:19 UTC. GB7SF is located near the summit of Wincobank Hill, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It has been financed by a small group of local radio Amateurs, and of course any further donations to expand the system, would be kindly received. GB7SF is currently operating on 145.7375 (TX 145.1375) at 10 Watts output. We have recently installed a new rack system, a rack mount power supply, a rackmount UPS unit, new TX/RX systems cavity filters, new coaxial feeds and a new antenna. The server cabling has been upgraded to shielded CAT 6 ethernet. Future plans include the provision of the 1.2Ghz Data and voice units if demand, and assistance, is forthcoming. GB7SF, running G2 software, is connected to the International Gateway via Port G, and is already proving a popular asset to both local and international users. Please note registration is required to use the gateway locally. If you have not registered with another D-Star Gateway Repeater, please contact Steve M1ERS on the email address provided above. You only ever need to register once to gain access to the Worldwide D-Star System and also its various reflectors. A very hearty welcome to all our International users/friends from the GB7SF team.
