Gus,W4BPD was the first one to activate Campione d'Italia, the Italian enclave in Switzerland, in September,1960. I had to return with him there as part of a larger dxpedition together to countries valid for WTW  but the trip had then to be cancelled. In memory of his great friendship I always promised myself to go  one day or the other. Finally our DXpedition to Campione d'Italia took place between the 27th and the 30th of December 1989 with the call IC2A. The Italian Ministry of P&T issued for the first time the prefix IC2. Along with me IC2A was operated by my father I1RB, IK1HSS and IK1IYZ with multiple stations active round-the-clock on all bands and modes with about 25.000 qsoes logged. Paul, I1RBJ
