GENERAL INFO: Born in Naples, Italy on the 9th of June 1957. Chemical Engineering University Degree. Lived in different places including 4 years in Saudi Arabia. Married with two grown-up boys. Active in CW and SSB . Antennas: home made Moxon for the 20m at 12.5 m, on the other bands I have installed an home made End Fed Wire (about 26 m in lenght) with an homebrew 4:1 unun, air wound, followed by a 1:1 choke. On VHF/UHF I use an experimental circularly polarized antenna. Rigs and receivers:Elecraft K3, Kennwood TS-2000, Elecraft k1, Drake R4b, Yaesu FR-50B, AOR 8600, Yaesu VX-8GE (for APRS Operations too). Power Amplifier: ACOM 1000. Power: the house is equipped with a 3 KW fotovoltaic power generator, moreover in the the shack I have an emergency power source fed by a separate and dedicated solar panel. Other interests: technical subjects reading, analog electronics and antennas homebrewing, scuba diving and cooking. From 2004 to 2010 I have lived in the southern part of Italy, town name: Cava de' Tirreni (near Salerno) and the call sign used there was IK2AHG/8.

By the way, from the 8th to 13th July 2009 included I have operated from the Maldives, Maayafushi isl, AS 013, as 8Q7DI. Operations were mainly in CW on 14 and 18 Mhz. QSL manager is i8ACB. See pictures below taken during the operations in Maayafushi. See you on the air then!
