Originally licensed in 1963 and from northern New Jersey. Now, living and operating from Lincoln, NE. where I own and operate a martial arts school. I've spent 22 years as a broadcast engineer, and have called home San Diego (16 years), Nevada (5 years), back to New Jersey for a few- now, dead center of the country in Nebraska since 2009. I'm also an avid road bicyclist and former category 3 racer. I love music, and have studied classically. Another hobby of mine is cooking, Italian of course! And to quote Paul Simon,"still crazy after all these years". Previous Call Sign - WC2T Station consists of a Icom IC-761, an Ameritron AL-811H Amplifier, and a Palstar AT2K Antenna Tuner. The antennas are a Mosley TA-32 for 10,15,20 meters and a Carolina Windom for 30 and 40 meters. I can most frequently be heard operating CW- but do work phone as well, and I still get the same thrill as I did as a kid working DX. Vy 73 es hpe to cu soon. Tnx fer checking in.
A short history about the call sign --- K2BY K2BY was the call assigned to Joe Unger. Joe was a true pioneer in the early days of radio. He was employed by RCA during the 30's and 40's and held several patents in the radio field. It was an honor to know Joe in the latter part of his life. Going to his QTH was like going back in time to when hams homebrewed all their equipment. When Joe died, a little part of early radio died with him. I was fortunate to receive his call and hope I live up to the K2BY tradition. 73 - Otto - K2BY
