My former callsigns were KD4KBU, KQ4DM, and KE3ID. I enjoy communicating via VHF/UHF repeaters.

My main hobby is astronomy, and I volunteer as a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador. In addition, I author a monthly astronomy column (since April 2007) for The Free Lance-Star newspaper with a circulation of 50,000 serving the Fredericksburg, VA, area. My other hobbies include running, weightlifting, Oakland A's baseball, and listening to heavy metal/rock music.

In June 2006, I earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, and in July 2009 I earned a master's degree in management - better late in life than never!
