I have the good fortune to live in the beautiful hill country of central Texas near Austin, the Texas Capital, home of the Texas Capitol which just happens to be seven feet taller than the US Capitol in Washington. Everything is BIGGER in Texas, you know!

 

Our local flora includes the Texas Bluebonnet (Lupinus texsensis).

The view outside my radio shack in the spring.

And some of the local fauna.

Bald eagle at nearby Lake Buchanan;

Texas whitetail deer

A couple of our less congenial, indigenous inhabitants
