I've been a ham since 1959 beginning as a Novice and moving through Conditional, General, Advanced, and Extra. I've been pretty much exclusively a CW operator for the last 8 years since studying for the Extra. I enjoy the "low" stress contests such as Fists Sprints and State QSO parties and some DXing but I mostly enjoy the longer CW contacts.
I'm currently building a K2 and have plans for some low power transmitters and receivers. I'd like to be able to operate a 100% home brew station in a couple of years. I'm also working on some CW awards with Fists, SKCC, and DXCC so look for me on 20, 30, and 40 meters. My Fists number is 8077 and CC 1611. My SK number is 1820T.
The current station consists of a ICOM 706 (and a Kenwood TS-440 as backup), a Red Hot 20, a 20 meter Rockmite, a home brew PS for the QRP rigs, a C4SS tribander with 40m rotary dipole on a crankup tower (usually around 60 ft), Gap Titan vertical, and inverted V's for 80 and 30 meters. I use a straight key, so don't expect perfect code but hopefully readable.
