I was first licensed in 1957 while still in high school (Novice license KN6UGC). I lived in the Los Angeles area and was very active on 40 Meter CW. Shortly after I graduated high school I joined the Navy and became a Radioman. I spent most of my tour working CW ship-to-shore from a communication base in the Philippines. After I was discharged I lost interest in radio. In 1967 I became a California Highway Patrolman and spent the next 30 years patrolling the roads, in three different parts of the state. I retired in 1997, and since I always wanted to get back into radio, I started off with my Technician Plus, and quickly progressed to Extra. I am a member of FISTS, SKCC and Ten-Ten. I mainly work CW and choose from a nice collection of keys. In late August '05 my wife and I moved from the Central Coast of California to the beautiful state of Washington. I quickly rebuilt my Hamshack, and was back on the air by October. BTW, I like the futuristic look of the Traffie Hexbeam on my roof. Besides that, it works well. 73 Nick Last modified: 2011-11-11 21:47:14, 1100 bytes cached
