Novice at 12 years old, Advanced at 14, then QRT for 35 years. Back into ham radio during the summer of 2008 and having a great time. Setup is currently a K3/100 with a 43 foot vertical and a remote antenna tuner. Also put up a 2 m vertical antenna for local VHF. Enjoy mainly CW, but occasionally like to log a few QSOs with AO-51. Settled into using Ham Radio Deluxe for digital modes and logging. Built a home-brew 20 element 432 MHz yagi to try EME with Arecibo but wasn't successful. Will certainly try again. Installed an IRLP node for local amateur use. The node (#7456) is simplex at 146.40 MHz, PL 100 Hz. Feel free to experiment with IRLP if you're in the area. Hobbies include: dirtbikes, which we take out to Carnegie State Park my son, Ryan, KJ6GTA, and a couple of HTs to communicate; teenage daughters (quite a handful) and my lovely wife Corin (who looks at me with scorn if caught on the radio) QSL cards wanted! eQSL and LoTW are fine too.
