Past news - QRP ARCI 50th Anniversary (Golden Jubilee) Info? go to www.qrparci.org
The Jubilee is now history. Hundreds of folks made contact with K6JSS while it being rotated from state to state. Twelve people did the clean sweep by working all 50 states when they used the K6JSS callsign. For a summary, visit the qrparci.org website.
QSL instructions: Send QSLs to: K6JSS address on qrz.com (above). An SASE would be appreciated and please indicate on the lower left corner of the envelope the state(s) you are appling for. Please limit your requests to one QSL if possible. We cannot afford to send each of you 50 QSL cards! However, if you need a special state for an ARRL award, we can accomodate. Requests for subsequent QSL cards must be accompanied by an SASE and an additonal 44c stamp appreciated to cover those who have not included an SASE. Each QSL will acknowledge up to 3 QSOs. Remember QRP ARCI awards do not require QSLs.
Check www.qrpspots.com , the DX Cluster Network , and the Reverse Beacon Network to find current on-the-air activity.
NEW! You may find K6JSS stations posting their anticipated schedules at this new site-qrparci2011 yahool reflector. NO NEED TO JOIN (unless you want to) - stations may post to this site even though they are not a "member". Just check here to see if an operator has posted his schedule for the following day or two. Then go to QRPSPOTS.COM when that time arrives. BETA TEST MODE. Click here to experience this schedulaing site:

So what is the Golden Jubilee?
The year 2011 will mark QRP ARCI's
fiftieth or Golden Anniversary. In 1961, we started out as a 100 watt
club interested in reducing QRM, and have transitioned into
a group of operators, hikers, builders/experimenters, and
contesters that pursue this great activity at five watts or less.
One way the club will mark this anniversary is to activate the club
call in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia
throughout 2011. QRP ARCI members/volunteers will be
assigned one week during the year in which they can use the
club call, K6JSS from their location. We encourage them to
operate with K6JSS with as many modes/bands and as often as
possible during their assigned week. A special "Worked All
States" certificate will be issued to all that qualify by working
20, 30, 40 or all 50 states who use the callsign K6JSS. A plan
is being developed for later in the year for any states you miss
first time around.
John Burnley, NU0V is coordinating this effort for the
club.
The number of QRP ARCI members for each state is shown.
The club needs volunteers to make this happen. We need one
member/volunteer from each state. The member will agree to operate using K6JSS
during their assigned week and recruit others to help.
They will also send a copy of their logs for the week to logs
- The weekly start time is 0000Z which is Sunday evening US time.
If you wish to volunteer to be a POINT OF CONTACT for a state not listed, send an email to
John at nu0v@arrl.netThis email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it . He needs your call and location.
I hope to see all 50 states on the air during 2011.
