Thanks for visiting. I have been a Ham since 1999. I thoroughly enjoy this hobby. As you can see, I have a very modest station. I have a small vertical attached to my balcony railing on the 10th floor of this high rise (exhibit A). My radio is a Ten Tec Jupiter that runs at 100W. My key is a Vibroplex straight key SN# 100150 (exhibit B).  I recently have joined a great group called the SKCC (Straight Key Century Club) after re-learning CW. My SKCC# is 5604. If conditions are right, you can usually get me on 14.050, as this is where my VFO is parked 99% of the time.

My other "project" (hihi) is my 1-year old son, Gavin (exhibit C). This little guy takes up most of my time. He never ceases to both amaze and amuse me. His eyes light up when I bring him near the rig but he is just a wee bit young to be pounding brass quite yet.

About me: I work for a well-known utility company here in NE Ohio. Before that, I was a Sergeant in the US Army, where I served for 5 and one-half years. During that time I have done tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan, I did a little writing of my wartime experiences, you can check out some of this writing in the following books:

The Sandbox: Dispatches from Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan

IED: War in Afghanistan and Iraq

Before the Army, I was just a typical American kid. I got into radio via the Boy Scouts, where I attained the rank of Eagle Scout. What else.oh MARS: AAR5KN. I am 27 years old and got married young, have been married for 6 years.

73,

Brandon
