I have been a ham since 1965, and have held the call signs of WN4AHI, WB4AHI, WA9TEV, and KC9AD. I've also held a commercial FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License(PG1827835)since 1970. I am presently employed by the Indianapolis Police Department, where I train approximately 1,700 Marion and Hendricks County police and civilian employees per year to operate computer devices on our law enforcement computer system. In 1985 I retired from the Indiana State Police. While with the ISP, I worked as a communications officer at our GHQ, an assistant chief communications officer at the Indianapolis Post, a chief communications officer at GHQ, and the section supervisor over the IDACS Section at GHQ. I also was one of the communications personnel assigned to the State Police Command Bus. This included 9 years of working the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race and qualification weekends. I also set up the radio network of the Indiana Department of Correction and trained their personnel. I also wrote the manual for and oversaw the state's Indiana Law Enforcement Emergency Network (ILEEN), which allows all Indiana law enforcement agencies to have mobile units operating on a common frequency during emergency situations. My hobbies include amateur radio, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, meteorology, and traveling. I love HF contests and DX ragchewing. I also love participating in emergency communications. In 1989 this interest took me to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands to assist in Hurricane Hugo relief.an experience I'll never forget. I am currently a mamber of the ARRL and am certified as a VE. I have previously been a member of the Morgan County Repeater Association, Morgan County RACES, Morgan County Skywarn in Martinsville, IN, and the Midstate Amateur Radio Club in Franklin, IN. 73 Rev: KC9AD - Sat Sep 26 7:43:20 1998 Last modified: 2011-09-24 03:05:17, 1963 bytes fetched
