First licensed in 1971 as WN0DRH, then held Advanced Class WB0DRH for more than 30 years. Upgraded to Extra Class and the 1x2 call K9HZ in 2003 after many years of inactivity. See the K9ZC page for the specifics of my contest station. At my home in Katy Texas I have a SteppIR DB-11 three element beam up in the attic of the house on a Yaesu rotor, and a 10 element 2 meter and 17 element 432 antenna,Note that my community is completely antenna challenged, so the antennas in the attic are the bext comprimise I could think of. My current home radios are a Icom 756PROII and a 910H. I plan topurchase a Flex-5000 to completely automate my home station sometime in early 2012. Mobile operation consists of a Icom 706 MKIIG and the option of either a Preditor screwdriver antenna, or an original Bug Catcher antenna. I have several mobile amplifiers available for the mobile. with new ones on the drawing board all the time. My family travel to some exotic places for vacation and I take my ham gear along. I'm currently also licensed as 8P6HK, J68HZ, and ZF2HZ. I enjoy antenna, radio, and amplifier design details. I'm in the process of developing internet remote controls for my ranch station K9ZC so that I can use it from my new QTH. Other hobbies include traveling, racing sports cars, motorcycles, and competition shooting (currently a nationally ranked NRA marksman). Last modified: 2011-09-19 03:37:47, 1609 bytes cached
