I've been 'Hamming' since my High School days when, back in '62, I started as a Novice, WV2YTX, and progressed through the Technician and General classes, WA2YTX, before graduation in '63. Upgraded (the hard way) to Extra Class, KA2X, in '79.
Early station: Adventurer & SX-23 Closet station: HW-7 QRPcirca 1962 circa 1972I joined the USAF and, after Minuteman Missile Tech School, I was assigned as a Missile Facilities Specialist at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana. Since then I've worked at Xerox for over 40 years in numerous technical service training and documentation jobs in NJ, VA (WA4GAV), PA and NY [with brief stints in the 'Field' implementing new product training in the USA, England, France and Israel]. I offically 'retired' in 2003 and, after a number of years of going back for consultant work at Xerox, I am now 'foot-loose and fancy free' to operate to my 'heart's content'. I'm usually on CW either rag-chewing or chasing DX and I enjoy experimenting with the various digital modes on HF and VHF. I also enjoy teaching computer classes and being a part of a PC Repair Clinic at the local Veteran's Center. My latest interests are Model Railroading (O-gauge) and I've recently picked up a wide range mini-handheld (Yaesu VX-3R) to monitor railroad activity. 73 - Tom Last modified: 2011-01-21 22:55:49, 2955 bytes cached
