Hello from KB5WX . I go by the name of Randy , as that is what my folks called me while I was growing up .I got this call as a vanity last June . It was my uncle Bill Malone's callsign for a number of years . He is now a silent key and I wanted to keep his callsign active .My former callsign was AI4FP , and , before that KI4ATH . I work mostly CW , but you never know where I might turn up on the bands .

I am a member of FISTS # 10542 , SKCC # 5 , Flying Pigs QRP Club # 979 . I'm also a member of SPAR ( Society for the Preservation of Amateur Radio ) . I am the former Alabama Section Traffic Manager , which I really enjoyed , but had to give up due to some family obligations . Update : New XYL Sarah , is now licensed as KI4UWK . Sarah passed her General in 2009 . She is currently studying for her Extra .

I have recently been appointed as Area 5 DEC . I have some really good EC's working with me here in Southeastern North Carolina . We arein the process of putting together an Area 5 ARES Net . It will be one night per month on the 147.045 Lumberton repeater . 

Look for me on the bands around the SKCC or FISTS calling frequencies . Also you may feel free to check into one of the Alabama phone nets any time you get the chance . Hope to " see " you on the radio . Let's pound some brass .
