Originally licensed as KI4IEY in December of 2004, I obtained my upgrade to General in June of 2005 and Extra in September of 2005. I was assigned the call AI4ME when I passed my Extra exam. On March 31st, 2009 I became KC4H.

I enjoy contesting and DX and spend most of my timeonSSB, RTTY and PSK31.My HFequipment is an FT-1000MP Mark V with an AT-200Pro Auto Tuner into a Carolina Windom 40. I also have a backup Icom IC-718 and a homebrew 20M dipole strung in the attic so it's protected from the elements.

Other equipment consists of Icom 2200H w/ DSTAR in the shack, Icom 2100 in the car, Yaesu FT-8800 in the truck and a Yaesu FT-60 for everywhere else.

We have two other hams inthe family. My brother Tony, KC2HTT, and my son Darrin, KC2TXC.

I chose my new call sign, KC4H, based on the fact both my brother and son have the 'KC' prefix. I chose the '4' not just because I live in 4 land, but more so that 4-H was an important part of my life growing up in upstate NY. I spent many summers at 4-H Camp Shankitunk in Delhi, NY. So it seemed fitting to go for the call.
