Hello Friends,

I have been licensed since 1989 as the callsign KC4MAI. 10 Meters is the band that I love and I have accomplished working all states and all continents with 10-10 (#56017).

In December 2007, I applied for the vanity callsign KC4VT and was successful in obtaining it. I personally have dedicated this callsign as a Memorial for those students and faculty of Virginia Tech who tragically lost their lives on April 16, 2007. I have a specially designed QSL card in remembrance of them which I send out.

I find it most rewarding to be involved in introducing new people to the hobbie, especially younger folks because the future of Ham Radio depends on the younger generation to stay strong and active. Being involved in amateur radio testing through W5YI and also ARRL is most gratifing. I am happy and content in the fact that I am an Independent Ham Radio Operator, not focused on any club-affiliations but willing to help anyone that I possibly can.

Some of my accomplishments include WAS; WAC; worked all of Africa on 10M and in the very near future I will complete 5 band Worked All States and my most recent accomplishments that I am very proud of was winning High Single Band in the 2008 Virginia QSO Party and winning Low Single Band in the 2009  Virginia QSO party and it is with deepest appreciation to everyone who made contact with me in the QSO party both years.   Over the years, I have been active with Boy Scout's Jamboree on the Air; many Field Days; ARES and Skywarn and the organization and Charter member of a past local amateur radio club. While "chasing DX" is my all-time favorite, I really enjoy contesting and just simply rag-chewing with anyone.

If at some point in time I have already talked to you, it was truly my pleasure and I hope to do it again sometime. And if I have not talked to you yet, please give me a call anytime you hear me on the bands.
