****WARNING- Please QSL direct. Buearu cards cannot be returned. I also apologize, but i cannot return cards without an SASE. I am getting hundreds of cards a week and many do not have an SASE. I cannot afford 50$ a week to return QSLs. Thank you.****** Howdy, I'm a Wyoming native that loves my radio. I use it daily in communications with my family and friends. Almost every member of my family is licensed. I got my license back in 1997 and have been using it ever since. I had to take the 13wpm code test but unfortunately, let my CW skills go, so I am currently climbing back on the horse and getting proficient again. I find CW relaxing and a lot of fun, but it is a little akward still. I hope with time I will be able to get more comfortable with it. I have been bitten by the DX bug over the past year. From a clean slate to 150+ countries confirmed in 1 year. Over 220 worked, but still waiting for the cards. I very much enjoy the act of QSLing and certainly plan to continue the tradition.
I have worked as a Firefighter-medic for almost 13 years (got started on a junior program and have not done much else). I got my certification from Texas A&M University in College station Texas. I got my first career ambulance job at 18 and have only worked in emergency service since. I had recently switched to working as a police officer, but suffered a significant back injury and was forced to retire. I now work for Motorola and maintain public safety systems statewide.
The rest of my time is spent shooting (my other expensive hobby) and traveling with my wife. We also both hike and 4 wheel whenever we get the chance. I convinced her to get her license as well. She made it all the way to General (KE7ZCR). I doubt I get her to Extra though. I am so proud. My nerdiness is rubbing off on her. Our first child arrived in late 2010, and has been a trial to say the least. It has cut into my DXing time, but it is worth it.
