I have bought & sold and swapped a variety of Ham gear over the years in an effort to learn about different manufacturers and technologies and to discover which rigs I most enjoy using. Current HF gear is a Yaesu FT-857D (160m-440), Alinco DX-70T, and Clegg Zeus (the latter two are project rigs). Favorite bands are 160, 40, 20, and 6 meters; antennas include a homebrew HF dipole, homebrew NVIS HF doublet, Homebrew HF vertical, homebrew 6M delta loop, and a Comet GP-15 6/2/440 vertical. My "Elmer" is Bob, W5UQ. (Doesn't every Ham have an "Elmer", and doesn't every Ham "Elmer" another Ham?) The local Ham club is S.T.A.R.S. http://www.statesboroars.org/ The nickname "doc" resulted my hobby interests in technology, my earned doctorate degree, and when I served as a college administrator and adjunct professor - it just kinda started somewhere. (I was raised that "Doc" was reserved for medical doctors so I always use the lower case "doc".) Last modified: 2011-04-13 16:42:33, 1248 bytes cached
