Born in Douglaston, NY (NYC) in 1954, I learned CW from my dad. During the war (WWII), he was a B-29 radio operator flying out of Guam over Japan. I passed my license in 1971. Spent most my time building Heathkits in highschool. Did some ham in college and then went QRT in the late 1970's. Then in December of 2007, XYL and myself took a treck down to HRO and picked up an IC-718. Spent the first three months working my code back up to speed and then went on the air in March 2008. Gave my IC-718 to my nephew Eric, KC2VXX, when he passed his general. Still trying to get him to learn his code. My daughter Patricia, KB3UJE, passed her Technician and learned 5 WPM. Super Girl!! My station now consists of an Icom 7200, 7000, and 703. I exclusively use Hypower antenna company "signature series", limited edition, dipole antennas. My father-in-law, Martin Mehron, PO 3rd Cl, U.S.N. Radio School, 1942(below, far right)
