New Ham as of 2002, upgraded to General on 12/2004. Run Icom 706 MkIIG on Tarheel Screwdriver antenna mobile and a 706 on a long wire (back stay on a sail boat). Use an antenna tuner (Icom AT130) on the long wire and it works great. Use a Kenwood TS2000 to try HF and Satellite Coms. Use Apple Macintosh computers and MacLoggerDx program (excellent and virus free). Started a Ham radio club at a local school and put up a tower with 2M/440/HF for the school club to use (Oakwood School). Interested in doing educational programs for the kids and in the process, I will also learn! Other interests: Remote control airplanes, software development, Image analysis of digital imaging, sailing, photography, scuba diving and underwater photography. More recently built Elecraft K2, KX1, and a host of other kits. Now trying NUE-PSK digital modem, what a blast! Just started playing with old Collins "S" gear and a HW101 (looking at tube technology).
