Have been QRV and will QSL for my ops in HP as: HP3XUG, 3F3XUG, HO3A, 3F3A, HP3/KG6UH. Also can QSL for DU1/KG6UH (9/90-6/92) and HL9UH (9/92-6/94). W6 BURO is best usable. Please DO NOT use HP BUROS! Direct to PMA OK, use Apdto 0426-00417; David, Chiriqui; Rep de Panama. APO is safest, but we only get mail there about @ 6 weeks, so is a little slower. We now have the DX4WIN installed and the old logs (WJ2O) up-loaded, with all into LoTW in the next months. Makes QSLing much easier in these days.BUT, have had a number of crashes and lost a number of QSOs! Have now completed WAS: 5BWAS #2907 (all 10-80m Bands); 80m DXCC #2576; 5BDXCC #6274 [All CW]; 160m WAS #907; and as of 28MAR08 QSO'd #100 DXCC w/ EI2CN (now at 104/93) and issued #1641 DXCC award on 160 Jul '09, now 112/118 on 160. All awards are CW endorsed and at 100W output. Previously quite active fishing/diving in waters of Pacific and Atlantic on both sides of the Isthmus, we started a new bizz taking tourists up rivers into indigenous territories. The jet boat previously used for just our exploring is now in service in Bocas del Toro province waters, where Columbus 1st passed 500 yrs ago! Check us out at http://www.panamajetboatexplorer.com This bizz is for sale, as this old sailor realizes is a younger fella's job now! - complete package, or just boat, w/ re-built eng, new canvas, paint, etc. Activity has been concentrated on lower bands past 2 years. Currently have moved into new QTH [EJ88sp] end SEP08 w/ IC706 and R7 vert and hope to get new 80/160 Vert up by end of '08 & also a K9AY RX ant.IC706 HAS BEEN DAMAGED AND UN-ABLE TO GET SPARES VIA PANAMA (FM JAPAN), SO AM BASICALLY QRT! Since June '09. Will install the 144 (4 x 17 el M2 5WL w/ dual polar els + KW) as soon as get a suitable tower! Been way too long being off THE REAL DX - EME! HP is the 5th DXCC entity have operated EME, and had the privilege to make a first EME QSO from each (W6, XE2, DU1, HL9 & HP3). In XE2, DU1 & HP3 made first EME on 2 bands. Am available to assist anyone needing HP on most any band. Please contact for skeds at hp3xug@gmail.com to coordinate. Have a new "hobby" nearly as fanatic as ham-radio - Cycads, which are living fossils, pre-dating the Dinos by a mere 100 Million years. HP is blessed with no less than 15 species (probably 2-4 more possible here) and our work with Univ of PMA and others has been a truely incredible activity. No where else in the World can one visit 3 or 4 species in their native habitat in a single day! All native to HP are in the Genus Zamia xxxx. Stomping thru the jungles here and catching first glimpses of these marvelous plants, is akin to QSOing a new DXCC entity! Was the Post-Tour Coordinator for the 2008 Tri-annual Cycad Conference held in Panama City Jan 2008. A photo on the QRZ.com HP3TA site shows such a plant, currently quite endangered by habitat destruction! Thanks for reading, and appreciate any comments/queries/suggestions. With warm 73 to all, Louis [KG6UH, HP3TA] Last modified: 2011-11-11 21:59:30, 3839 bytes fetched
