We are on 2 acres in the hills above Kalama, WA, at 1000 ft elevation overlooking the Columbia River to the West. Fishing, Hunting, and Ham Radio, all are great opportunities in this area. My main rig is now an Elecraft K3, which I built in January 2010. The K3 started out as a15 watt model and then was later upgraded with the 100 watt finals. I also have a 15 watt battery powered Elecraft K2 that I built in January 2006. My main antenna for over 20 years has been a vertical ground mounted butternut HF6V. I added 12 and 17 meter coils in 2004. When QRO is needed, I have an AL- 811H amplifier that runs on 240 volts and has 4 Taylor 572B tubes. Good past rigs gone but not forgotten are a Yaesu Mark V Field, Yaesu FT-890AT, and a Yaesu FT-101E. My ham radio website is http://www.mytargets.com/kg7mz/ Please QSL via direct mail. I hope to hear you on the radio soon!
Building the K3 was much simpler than building the K2 but still was a great experience.
