I was born in Allentown, PA and was raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Gave my life to Jesus Christ 1980 and will never again be the same. Thank You Jesus! Attended Bethlehem Vo Tech/Liberty High School majoring in Auto body. Enlisted into the Army in 1963 and served three years as an armored crewman in Korea (1st Cav Div.) and Germany (3rd Armored Div). Other schooling includes Devry Tech (Columbus, OH) for Electronics; Ryder Professional Driver School (Millville, NJ) for Tractor Trailer; Central Florida Community College (Ocala, FL) for Computer and Electronics. Earned my Novice call in 1976 while living in Irving, Texas thanks to the help of the fine members of the (WA5CKF) Irving Amateur Radio Club Inc Upgraded to Technician (KA4ZMC) in 1982 and then to Advanced (KF4QK) in early 1983 thanks to the help of fine members of the (K4GSO) Silver Springs Amateur Radio Club in Ocala, FL. Married to my beautiful wife Cecile (KB3PYF) since 1986. I enjoy building antennas, contesting, working DX and old tube radios. Radio has always been my interest since early childhood when I would DX the AM band and SWL. First transmissions were on the old CB band back when they still had call letters (KFN-3861). Other interests include Bible teaching; Hot Rods; Drag racing; Motorcycling; Physical fitness; Storm spotting and chasing; Research; Ford FE Big Block motors and working on our 1966 Ford F-100 race truck "Spooky". You may find me sometimes on the "Spirit Net" @ 3.905 MHz; the "Ambassadors for Christ Net" @ 7.280 MHz; the "Carolina Emergency Net" @ 3.907 MHz, or the "3905 Century Club Early, or Late SSB Nets." @ 7.178 MHz. Early / 7.2335 MHz. Late on 40 Meters, or @ 3.902 MHz. on 75 Meters. Also the 160 Meter Early net @ 1.892 Mhz. Current equipment is a Kenwood TS-530S and a Hustler 5BTV with the add on kit for 17 meters. (Soon to add 12 meters with my own designed attachment.) Amplifier is a Heathkit SB-220. I also operate QRP on 10 meters with an Emperor TS-5010 and a converted Antenna Specialists M-400 Starduster antenna. VHF equipment is a Yaesu FT-2800M with a Diamond 510X on the base station. Cecile's mobile is also a Yaesu FT-2800M with a 5/8 wave Workman antenna mounted solid to the roof with an MFJ "bee hive" mount. My mobile has an Icom IC-28H with a Workman 5/8 wave also solid roof mounted. The only UHF at present is an Icom IC-W31A Dual Band 2M/70CM HT. I want to acknowledge and give special thanks to my cousin Walter J. Super (W3GFA) who is now a "Silent Key" for instilling in me an interest and love for radio and electronics in general.
