General Information

The region of Diekirch had been populated ever since. Prehistoric traces were found, the floor mosaics of some roman villas may be seen in the historical museum. In the Christianization era under the Merovingian emperors, a church was built; hence the name DIET KIRCH in medieval German, meaning "church of the people". Later, Diekirch had been made into a fortress with walls, towers and four town gates. The letters of freedom, dated between 1252 and 1266, led to a steady growth from the medieval marketplace and craftsmen's corporations to the advent of the railway and industry somewhat more than a hundred years ago. With a population of some 6000 today, Diekirch gathers regional administrations, a law-court as well as schools and tourist infrastructures. LX750D Activation Rules

LX750D may be activated by all LX licensed amateur radio operators members of the RL. SWL reports are welcome. Novice operators are bound to the restrictions of the novice license. Activation may be made between July 1st, 2010 and June 30th, 2011, these two dates included. The callsign may be activated on all bands, the WARC bands included. There is no restriction on the modes used. VHF operating over the LX0HI repeater is allowed. The station manager coordinates the activations. The activation logs shall be sent to the QSL manager. The logs shall be in ADIF file format and mention the operator's name, home call sign and the actual QTH of the activation. Any dispute concerning LX750D shall be settled by the RL board. The activation is free of charge. The call may only be activated from a QTH located in the canton of Diekirch. An exception is made for the Herrenberg, being a military area where no amateur radio operating is allowed. The RL board will not ask any operating permissions for this area.
