QSL image for N0D

N0D - Special Event Station for Doomsday - The End of the World! Will we be your last 73?

Celebrate Doomsday by contacting N0D directly on the air.

QSL with SASE via KK5W

DOOMSDAY UPDATE - December 18th - Three Days Left!

Due to popular demand, N0D is on the Air, today December 18th through December 22nd, if we survive destruction.   There are many requests for the last QSO, that we extended our operations.  We will be operating as long and as often as we can.  We may have to change frequencies and modes quickly as destruction rains down upon us.  There may be limited daytime operation as many of our employers insist we show up for work even though its Doomsday.

Check the DX Clusters if you need help locating where we are on the bands. Make N0D your last QSO!

73, N0D

That’s right! The end is finally near. According to one of the three Mayan Calendars, the end of the world will occur on Dec 21, 2012. To celebrate this literally once in a lifetime event, Special Event Station N0D (Now Zero Days) will be activated for three days. December 20; is a celebration of the end of the world. December 21; the day of destruction, we will be on the air as long as possible. December 22nd, that is a little iffy right now.

More information is available on the Official N0D website, www.nowzerodays.com . You can also e-mail the N0D team at N0D.Doomsday@gmail.com with questions or suggestions about Doomsday.

Initial operating frequencies are 28.400, 21.350, 14.235, 7.200. But are all bets are off as destruction rains down upon us. We may have to change bands or frequencies at a moments notice. We will also be trying some CW and digital contacts.

Begining December 15th - December 22nd (If we make it that far), you can contact N0D via satellite on available passes. Contact N5AFV for more information/ (http://www.qsl.net/n5afv/)

On Saturday December 15th the Doomsday Balloon was launched from Fulshear, Tx. Trackers on the balloon carried the N0D callsign to new heights; over 80,000 feet. Thanks to the efforts of The Southeast Texas Balloon Launch Team. For more info http://www.w5acm.net/b32.html

Amateur radio stations around the crumbling globe are invited to contact N0D, who will be operating from a secret undisclosed location. QSL with SASE via KK5W, the address is in QRZ. If Doomsday actually does happen, we regret that a QSL will not be possible so don't mail your QSL request until it is safe.

We are definitely going out with a laugh. After all it is just an excuse to get on the air. Or is it?. You never know what can happen. In any case, we urge amateurs from around the crumbling world to make contact with N0D and report conditions in their area. You know, meteors ,earthquakes, tsunamis, cracks in the earth. We will be on the air as long as we can and as long as our generators hold out.

Members of our club will be operating from several secret, undisclosed locations. We hope to be represented on all bands (including WARC bands) and modes for as long as we can but deteriorating conditions may force us to move. As the globe falls apart, N0D may be interrupted from time to time but we will stay on the air as conditions permit.

If by some chance, we make it through Doomsday, the Doomsday QSL is available with SASE, or by buro.

You can become an Official Doomsday Station by registering on our website, www.nowzerodays.com . You will receive a registration number and the authority to identify yourself as “Official Doomsday Station” with your call sign and exchange your signal report and official Doomsday Number. Official Doomsday stations will receive the Doomsday Station Certificate. Stations contacting at least 10 Official Doomsday Stations during the event will be recognized on our web site.

Official N0D Doomsday apparel is now available from our website at www.nowzerodays.com.

Take the Doomsday survey on the website. It is not entirely clear exactly how it will happen. Will it be a cataclysmic shift in the earth’s magnetic field? Global Warming on steroids, earthquakes, volcanoes floods, global thermonuclear war, Meteor collision, the 10 plagues of Egypt, UFO invasion or all of the above? Who knows ? There are scientists, soothsayers and philosophers on both sides of the question. Either way it will be an event worth remembering. . .or maybe there will be no one left to remember it?

As the day draws near for N0D to go on the air, Check our website for the latest updates.

Participating in Doomsday Activities

When participating in the Doomsday festivities, Do not use the call sign N0D. Only the specifically designated control operators for N0D can use this call sign.

Identify yourself as a Doomsday station by calling CQ Doomsday or QRZ Doomsday and by using your own licensed call sign followed by a suffix which includes your Doomsday Number. The normal exchange is Signal Report and Doomsday number if you have one. For Example:

KK5W/Doomsday9999 for phone and digital

KK5W/DD9999 for CW

Where 9999=equals your Doomsday Certificate number.

If you registered but do not receive a certificate before Doomsday begins on Dec 20th, substitute 0000 for your Doomsday Number.

Initial operating frequencies are 28.400, 21.350, 14.235, 7.200. But all bets are off as destruction rains down upon us. We may have to change bands or frequencies at a moments notice. We will also be trying some CW and digital contacts.

You may submit logs to the QSL Manager at KK5W in ADIF Format

Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Club

P.O. Box 2997

Sugar Land, Tx 77487-2997

If you are requesting a QSL Card, please send your card with a SASE. Better wait to see if we survive Doomsday though.

Due to the overwhelming number of requests for Doomsday certificates, we may not be able to fulfill all requests for certificates before the world ends. The Doomsday staff will make every effort to send as many as we can before then.

In the event we cannot and we survive Doomsday, we will continue to send out certificates after Doomsday for all those who registered but you may not receive them until after the world ends.
