I got my ticket in March of 1984. I was inactive from about 1990 to 2007 with a job change's. Now back on the air and have my extra ticket. I got my WAS Top Band 160M Voice in Jan.1987 and have been working on getting some of the other bands as well. The Photo is of the HF amp I use. It was used at the Port of Duluth for ship to shore radio and phone patch's in the late 60's and 70's. It uses a pair of 3-400Z tubes and has a 100 % duty cycle of RTTY. It will put out about 1000w on SSB and a very nice 500W on AM. I saved it from the scrap pile of a junk yard in 1985. I was able to get the manuals from the Army Corp of Engineers, making it a real 1 of a kind find. If you know anything about this amp please send me a note. I love to hear from you. 73 Marv N0FJP Last modified: 2011-12-25 04:15:29, 862 bytes cached
