First licensed in Arizona in 1962 as WN7GUD. Active in K7RUF radio club from 1965 through 1969. Active in K1KBO (AA1KBO - MARS) radio club (during military duty at Ft. Devens, MA 1975-1978). Licensed in Kansas and Missouri initially as N0DLG, and subsequently as N0NAN. Briefly held callsign of AB0QC upon passing amateur extra class. Now N0XM. Enjoy CW almost exclusively. Also enjoy older vacuum tube equipment. Oldest station operated as N0XM is a Hammarlund HQ-170 receiver. A Johnson Viking Valiant, or a Johnson Viking Ranger, into a Johnson Viking Thunderbolt. It's a real tribute to both of these ham radio OEM's how well their equipment has held up and what a delight it is to still operate. Still smells like it did when we were kids! Also, occasionally use a Kenwood TS-520S as well. For CW QSO's enjoying much more modern equipment, I'm fortunate enough to choose between a Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V Field or a 200 watt Yaesu FT-1000MP. Both rigs continue to amaze me with their bells and whistles. Frequently run these rigs into an AL-80B. Occasionaly I'm fortunante to be able to run portable in the midwest with a Yaesu 897 into Hustler mobile antennas whilst camping. All of my stations benefit from linears to compensate for modest antennas. Also, I'm involved in the Wichita-based contesting club that holds the call sign of W0ICT. Fists # 10156.
