2/12/2012 I earned my novice license in March 1979 by the following November I went to the local FCC office in Buffalo and walked out a general class operator.I worked CW, SSB and did some RITTY while I was with the Navy Marine Corp. MARS. Then came the kids and that put my ham radio hobby on the back burner.A few years ago I had some time on my hands and decided to see what was going on in the hobby.I was quite taken aback at the advancement ( and the price ) of the technology with these new do all rigs. But I took my old Kenwood TS-520s out of moth balls cleaned it up and put her back on the air. She still works great although I did purches one of those do all rigs a Kenwood TS-2000 and that is now the workhouse of my shack but the TS-520s still gets used. In June 2011 I up - greated to Extra Class. My latest ambition is to get my CW speed back to respectabilty. I am member of the local ham club the Lancaster Amature Radio Club (LARC) and the local ARES group. Looking forward to retirement in about a year and a half so I can spend a little more time with the hobby. 73s Dave N2BND RIG - KENWOOD - TS-2000 / TS-520s ANT.
