Here are some scans of Original Ink drawings from Leslie Funston WA6HJL. I picked these up off eBay some years back and just came across them. They appeared in the late 70's and early 80's edition of the Ham's Almanac Calendar. Here is some info about the artist. Les first started playing with ham radio in 1920 using a Ford Coil, crystal detector and Murdock phones. He was first licensed in 1925 as W7AEM. He was a sea going brass pounder in the US Navy between 1930 and 1945 and retired from the Navy in 1960 with a rank of Warrant Officer. His assignments included being announcer/engineer for AFRS station WXLE for Enewetok nuclear tests (1952) and working with radio-photo at NSS in Washington DC (1954). W6QQQ, KH6QQU, K6NCX and KG6GX are some of his former amateur calls. NAA/NSS, NURJ GGJ, NPG, NPM and NPN are the Navy call signs he operated under. I'm certain most of us could relate to Les's cartoons as much as I do! Hope you enjoy. Life member of the ARRL-Michael N2WGC
