I am a retired electronics engineer and designed electronics for the Semiconductor fab industry, Biomedical and designed Environmental Monitoring Systems.
I was born in Glendale California and moved from Simi Valley California to Callender Iowa about 6 years ago and live out in the country with my wife on a nice acreage. I have plenty of room for a nice antenna farm! I enjoy chasing DX, repairing and restoring radio equipment and building repeaters. Too much equipment to list but I am currently running a Icom IC-746, BTI RF-2000 amplifier running a 3-1000 tube, a Kenwood TS-430 and Drake L7 amplifier running a pair of 3-500Z tubes. Tuners include, A Drake MN 2700 tapped inductor tuner, and a Murch Ultimate Transmatch roller inductor tuner. Antennas include a GAP Challenger vertical, various wire antennas for 75, 40 and 20 meters, a 10 and 6 meter vertical and various UHF and VHF antennas. I have not had the time to put up my 2 towers and antenna which include a KLM KT34XA and other Yagi antennas, that project is scheduled for this summer. Other hobbies include playing guitar, photography and computers.
