Hello, my name is Jeffrey and living In Lake In The Hills, IL I am married to my beautiful wife Rachel, and have a son named Ethan and daughter named Sophie. They all are my main joys in life and always will be! I have been licensed since 1991. Since then I have upgraded to Extra class. I obtained my Extra right before they got rid of the 20 wpm CW requirements "Figures!!". I enjoy Contesting and of course I love DX'ing. I have always been a DX chaser and to this day I am always looking for more DX stations to talk too, and more QSL cards to place on the wall. I started a local group in the McHenry Co area called McHenry Co Monitoring Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MHCMG/ We, meet once a month for a casual breakfast just to chit chat about Ham Radio stuff or scanners. I am a ARRL VE and so the MHCMG conducts VE test sessions every 4th Saturday of the month at the LITH Safety Center 1109 Crystal Lake Rd. in Lake In The Hills. Drop-in's are always welcome! My station: IC-756, Ameritron AL-811 Linear, Pentium 4 computer, DELL Laptop which allows me to control the whole HF station, For HF I use a CC A3S (3 ele tri-bander for 10,15,20M), Cushcraft R7, and I built a 160-10M loop which is 530' of wire around my property which works great! I use a discone antenna for my scanners Radio Shack Pro-2051, Radio Shack Pro-2067, and a Bearcat 796D. Running a Dual band vertical (Cushcraft A27010S) for 2M/70CM Most of this all is located on my roof top tower. Any antenna that helps me get my 5BDXCC is good for me. Big into APRS, N9MXT-10 is my I-GATE/DIGI for the area. In the mobile I also run a ICOM 706MKIIG for HF/UVHF/UHF and using a OutBacker for the mobile antenna. For D-STAR I am using a ID-880D which is inside the mobile and use a DV DONGLE for the laptop here for D-STAR. Newest advancement is MotoTrbo which I own a Motorola XPR6550 and a XPR4550 in the mobile
