Originally licensed in 1957 as K0MMI in Kansas City, I have held the calls W5RPI (Houston) and W4MRJ (Atlanta).

My XYL (Jeanette - NP2C) and I have been down here on St. Croix since 1988. My interests in amateur radio include building equipment, having schedules with friends, and working DX. My favorite phone band is 17 meters. I was also the "Caribbean contact" in the WA2XSY 60M (5 MHz) pilot project.

I also function as Net Control for the Maritime Mobile Service Net on Thursdays from 1500 to 1600 Eastern Time on 14.300 and work as a Net Controller on the Hurricane Watch Net.

I also have interests in contests, but primarily in hosting them in a multi-single or multi-multi category (I have limited patience saying "5908 - good luck in the contest", 5908 times in a 48 hour period by myself!). I am also serving my eighth term as ARRL section manager for the Virgin Islands section.

Other interests include scuba diving, computers and boating. While we do not currently have a boat, having sold it some years ago just before hurricane season, (whew!) I am also a past director of the St. Croix Yacht Club where my wife & I continue as members, past president of the St. Croix Amateur Radio Club and treasurer of the "East End Social Club," a social organization that meets weekly and has been around for at least 40 years (membership about 100 folks).

And, while not taking part in any of the aforementioned activities, I work as a federal trustee, taking care of Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcies in the Territory (St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix) as well as Puerto Rico and occasionally in the States.

Incidentally, the photo shows a good friend of mine, Bernie NP2CB and I, at the Maritime Mobile Service Net meeting in Orlando on Friday afternoon, October 14, 2005. The significance of the QSL card is that it was for an uneventful QSO that Bernie had with KB1LHY, the gentleman who sent the card. What makes it a bit unusual however is that Bernie's call is NP2CB, the card was inadvertently mailed to my XYL Jeanette, who is NP2C and was delivered to Bernie in person by me, NP2B! (tnx to Mike, K5MP, for the photo)
