NY2RC is the club call for the Greater New York Chapter at the American Red Cross. The members consist of volunteers from the Disaster Field Communications group. We are located at the Metro New York Regional Headquarters located in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan - blocks from the cross road of the world, Times Square. We have a station located in the Emergency Operations Center which equipped with (3) Yaesu FT-8800 VHF/UHF transceivers and a Yaesu FT-450 HF transceiver. One of the Yaesu FT-8800 radios is programmed and equipped for packet radio if the need should ever arise. Besides having our station at the Red Cross in Manhattan, we also have 2 mobile apparatuses. One of them is a Mobile Command Center that is equipped with a FT-8800 VHF/UHF transceiver and a Yaesu FT-857 HF transceiver. The other vehicle is a Hummer H2 donated by the GM Foundation which was outfitted as the Field Communications vehicle. It is equipped with a Yaesu FT-8800 VHF/UHF transceiver, Yaesu FT-857 HF transceiver, and a Kenwood TM-D700A VHF/UHF transceiver. For QSL, please contact Sidney Ko, K0SID.
