First licensed in 1963 as a sophmore in high school. Ham radio definately shaped my career as I became an Electrical Engineer in 1970. I spent 7 years in South Florida not really appreciating the propogation advantage until after moving back to the midwest where I was born and raised. Contesting and DX chasing has been my main focus in my 47 years as a ham. After working them all, and acquiring the top of the DXCC honor roll and 5BWAZ I took a hiatus from radio for over 12 years. I only became active again just 6 years ago. RTTY contesting is my new focus along with building some of the latest technology antennas ie: OWA and Moxon Yagis. I have solved the problem of poor propogation in the midwestern USA by traveling to the southern caribbean in February the last four years. The picture shows my SO2R RTTY station from Bonaire as PJ4R. Other operations have been at PJ2T in Curacao and P40R in Aruba. Email: n4rr@n4rr.com
