Nice to meet you dr friends

I was born in 1958 in Pombia village of Crete island, Greece, placed close to Phaestos palace.

I am a Biologist, and i work on the Microbiology Laboratory of the Univercity Hospital of Heraklion, Crete.

My job there, is to research the resistances of the microbe-strains to the antibiotics.

I am married with Maria and we have two children, Sofia and Andreas.

My home QTH  is near to KNOSSOS palace, the center of the famous Minoan Civilization.

I am very proud to be a Greek ham radio operator, especially a Cretan one.

I have my ham-radio licence since 1983, and my special inderest to the hobby is designing antennas.

Also i am very much interesting for digital modes , packet radio and computers.

My working conditions are as follows.

Tranceivers.

 - IC-746PRO using Heil-PR781 microphone, also the Shure SM58,

                        the SM-20   and SP-23 speaker

- Icom IC-735 with HM36 mic  and BHI-NEIM1031 noise canceller.

- Yaesu FT-857 with MH-59 mic, for portable, v/u ssb, sats  and mobile use

 - HEATHKIT HW-101 as a "gold" botanchor-vintage backup rig (very proud !!)

 - Yaesu FT-8800R for local repeaters, simplex and echo-link.

 - Yaesu FTM-10R for v/u-fm mobile use

 - Kenwood TH-F7 for portable and ssb-reception during walking.

Also, PK-232MBX, ICF-7600G,  several CW keyers, ATUs etc.

Antennas

 - 4 elements 20-15-10m yagi  ( fully homebrew, exact copy of KT34A)

- G5RV doublet for all HF bands  (homebrew)

- OCF dipole for the low-bands.

- Several magnetic loops (excellent low-profile antennas!!)

 - Diamond X300 for v/u local use

 - 8 el 144mhz yagi for repeater acces.

 - a lot of slim-Jim's, J's, ground planes, moxons, etc.

You can find me also on the FACEBOOK.
