I decided to take up a special call for my participation in the WW contests which would sound nice both at SSB & CW. So, SX5R was a good option.

Unfortunately, the Radio Amateur Association of Greece has decided that its members should only use the QSL bureau service for their respective own calls ONLY ,e.g. in my case I shall only use the free QSL bureau service of RAAG for my SV5DKL QSOs :-(

Moreover, they leave open the possibility to deal their members' special calls QSL traffic, but under a significant extra cost (according to the quantity of cards !!!)

So, for my contest operations, SX5R will QSL via SV5DKL on www.qrz.com with a SASE.

Hope to hear you on the bands in all major contests. 73s Stathis, SV5DKL

11 September 2006 Update :

As of November 2006, SX5R confirms QSOs through Log of the World!

Of course, anyone who wishes to send in a paper QSL is welcome and will receive a paper QSL, too!. Just post in a SASE with sufficient return postage to my mailing address.

73s to all!

28 September 2009 Update:

I have come to the point where the Cushcraft A3S sitting in its box for the past 5-6 years just HAS to be installed. Especially after 2009's WAE SSB contest it was obvious that a directional tribander is essential. Several antennas put to test were not as effective as I would like. I hope by the end of October to have the A3S put up. After that upgrade, my station will be set up for all kinds of contests as follows:

Rig1: Yaesu FT-2000 , Rig2: Kenwood TS-850SAT, Rig3: Yaesu FT-857D

RF Power Amplifier: SPE Expert 1K-FA

Antennas: Cushcraft A3S (I shall install the 40m add-on, too!), 12m high Spiderbeam fiberglass pole vertical base-loaded with an auto 1KW RF coupler, 30m Delta Loop corner fed with 10m of 450Ohm Ladder-Line connected to the Auto coupler, 3el. 6m cubical quad, 10el Winkler 2m Yagi (horizontally), 9el. Eco 2m yagi (vertically), Diamond X-300N (V-U vertical).
