This special callsign has also been used in the past for the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 Aegean VHF Contests as well as for the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 Field Day IARU R1 Contests where we ranked 1st in the latter four ones at the multi-op category in SV !

A bunch of good ham friends met again in order to be QRV for the 2010 IARU R1 Field Day Contest. This time the operators were SV0EG Alex, SV0LE Harry, SV7CUD Panos, SV7GBF Bill, SW2HSU Michael, SV2HWK George, SV2HWR Telis and SV2KBS Victoria (YL).

Our QTH lies at the excellently organised mountain shelter that is maintained by the Alpine Club of Nigrita (thanks, guys!), located on Mt. Vertiskos at 565m ASL (grid locator KN10RU).

Our station is QRV on all HF bands except WARC bands and everything is always solely powered by solar panels, batteries, as well as two big generators since the shelter is located at a remote area without any access to any electricity network facilities.

The equipment for HF: Yaesu FT-950, a mighty Spiderbeam Yagi rotated by the "armstrong" method, many experimental weather-balloon lifted wire antennae (yeaaaah !) along with SV1NL's antenna coupler as well as full-sized dipole antennae for the lower bands.

We also have a secondary station QRV to enjoy the VHF traffic. The setup: Icom IC-7400, Yaesu FT-950, I0JXX's 12el for 2m, HB9CV's 4el for 6m.

We always compete on Multi-op category.

Needless to say, we will be more than happy to work you and gain valuable points for our contest score !

QSL cards are always very welcome and you can send yours either via bureau or direct to our QSL manager, SV7CUD. Right after the end of the contests the QSL cards are sent to their destinations via the bureau. For direct QSLing please enclose 1$ or 1 IRC which is sufficient if you can afford it, yet not necessary.

We thank once more wholeheartedly the ham radioclub TARG
(Thessaloniki Amateur Radio Group) as well as all the guys who
with their valuable contribution make our station functional and
FUN every single time !!

Bitten by the Field Day bug ? So are we !! See you next year !
BS 73 ES 88 de SX7W Team ! Cheers 'n' beers !

Our trusty & mighty Spiderbeam - Shooting to North America !
